Each one is here because the property itself publishes, on its own website, a walk of ten minutes or less to one of seven stations — Yokohama, Shin-Takashima, Minatomirai, Bashamichi, Nihon-odori, Motomachi-Chukagai and Sakuragicho — or a direct connection to one. Hotels that publish walks only to Kannai or Shin-Yokohama are not here. The city holds more hotels than this; the page does not claim to list them all.

Yokohama Station, Minatomirai or Sakuragicho?

The Minatomirai Line starts at Yokohama Station and runs through Shin-Takashima, Minatomirai, Bashamichi, Nihon-odori and Motomachi-Chukagai, in that order; JR's Keihin-Tohoku Line runs on from Yokohama to Sakuragicho. Of these 35 hotels, 11 publish a walk to Yokohama, 5 publish a walk to Shin-Takashima, 7 publish a walk to Minatomirai, 9 publish a walk to Bashamichi, 4 publish a walk to Nihon-odori, 2 publish a walk to Motomachi-Chukagai and 11 publish a walk to Sakuragicho — some name more than one — and 3 state a direct connection. Yokohama Station is one name for JR, Keikyu, Tokyu, Sotetsu, the subway and the Minatomirai Line, and the hotels name whichever exit or gate they sit by; each card shows the one its hotel names.

How many changes from Narita, Haneda and Tokyo Station?

From Narita Airport, Yokohama takes no change — the Narita Express runs there; Shin-Takashima, Minatomirai, Bashamichi, Nihon-odori, Motomachi-Chukagai and Sakuragicho take one, at Yokohama Station. From Haneda Airport, Yokohama takes no change — the Keikyu Line runs there; Shin-Takashima, Minatomirai, Bashamichi, Nihon-odori, Motomachi-Chukagai and Sakuragicho take one, at Yokohama Station. From Tokyo Station, Yokohama and Sakuragicho take no change — the Keihin-Tohoku Line runs there; Shin-Takashima, Minatomirai, Bashamichi, Nihon-odori and Motomachi-Chukagai take one, at Yokohama Station. Each card shows the journey to the station its hotel names. Airport buses are not covered.

How big are the rooms?

32 of the 35 hotels publish the size of their rooms on their own site, and each card shows the smallest one listed. Among them it runs from 9 m² at Toyoko Inn Yokohama Sakuragicho to 47.44–50.18 m² at The Kahala Hotel & Resort Yokohama. Within one star class the spread is still wide: the 5-star hotels here start anywhere from 25.4 m² to 47.44 m². A bed width is shown only where the hotel states it. The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, Hotel Plumm and Hotel Yokohama Camelot Japan have no room size recorded here — none stated on the hotel's own site in a form this page could check — so their cards show none.

Where do these figures come from, and are prices shown?

Walking times come from the property, never from us. Each one is the hotel's own published access line — station, exit and minutes — read from its own website; one of those pages shows its access text only in a browser and was read there. We do not measure distances ourselves and do not convert map coordinates into walking times. Guest scores are Trip.com's own, out of 10, each shown with the number of reviews it is calculated from. Room rates are not shown: they move daily and by date, so a figure written into the page would be wrong within a day. Each hotel's link goes to the booking partner's page, where the current price is. Hotels are listed by guest score, with the review count breaking ties — there is no ranking of our own and no written verdict on which stay suits which traveller, because nobody here has stayed in them.
