How were these five areas chosen?
Trip.com's list pages group its Tokyo hotels into areas; each candidate was then opened individually to confirm a star class, a guest score, a review count and a street address. An area appears here when at least four hotels cleared that check. Below four, the figures describe a handful of properties rather than a place, so those areas were left out rather than written up thinly.
Does this page say which area is best?
No. It reports how many hotels the collector verified in each area, which classes those span, and their combined review volume. Which of that matters is the reader's call — nobody here has stayed in these areas, and a score range is not a character sketch.
Why does review volume get its own column?
A range on its own does not say how much sits behind it. Shinagawa spans 8.7–9.4 across 7,945 reviews, while Tokyo Station & Nihonbashi spans 7.9–9.4 across 3,706. Both totals are sums across the hotels verified in that area, not the review count of any one of them.
Are prices or room availability shown?
No. Both move daily and by date, so anything printed here would be wrong shortly after publishing. Each hotel links through to the booking partner, where the current rate lives.

Two different sources sit behind this page. Which area a hotel belongs to comes from Trip.com's own list-page grouping; the star class, guest score, review count and address of each hotel were then read from that hotel's own page on September 20–21, 2026. Areas were collected on different days within that span, and the date beside each area's own guide is the one that applies to its hotels. The hotel counts are counts of what the collector verified in each grouping, not of every hotel in the district.
Scores and review counts move as guests review, and Trip.com's area groupings can change. Confirm current details before booking.
