By name — the hotels a reader expects to compare around Gion and Shijo-Kawaramachi, 2-star to 5-star — looked up on Trip.com by id. Each one is here because the property itself publishes, on its own website, a walk of ten minutes or less to Keihan's Gion-Shijo or Hankyu's Kyoto-Kawaramachi. A hotel with "Gion" in its name that publishes a longer walk, or none, is not here. The area holds more hotels than this; the page does not claim to list them all.

Gion-Shijo or Kyoto-Kawaramachi?

They are two stations run by two railways: Keihan's Gion-Shijo and Hankyu's Kyoto-Kawaramachi. Keihan lists Hankyu as its interchange at Gion-Shijo, and Hankyu lists Keihan at Kyoto-Kawaramachi. Each card shows the one the hotel names and the walk from it, and 17 of these 23 hotels publish a walk to Gion-Shijo, where the route from JR Kyoto ends; the table gives it its own column.

How many changes from Kansai Airport and Tokyo Station?

From Kansai Airport, 2 changes: the Haruka to Kyoto, the JR Nara Line to Tofukuji and the Keihan Main Line to Gion-Shijo. From Tokyo Station, 2 changes: the Tokaido Shinkansen to Kyoto, the JR Nara Line to Tofukuji and the Keihan Main Line to Gion-Shijo. Keihan publishes the second half of that route itself, from JR Kyoto by the Nara Line to Tofukuji and on to Gion-Shijo. Kyoto-Kawaramachi is a walk on from Gion-Shijo through the interchange both railways list, not another change of train. City buses and airport buses are not covered.

Connect Inn Gion-Shijo publishes no size where it could be read, so its card shows none.
