Privacy

When a page loads, one record is kept with:

• the date and time, by the server's clock;
• the page's address, without any query string or #anchor;
• the kind of page (home, city, guide or one of these legal pages);
• the city the page covers — not where you are;
• the domain of the site that linked you here, if your browser passes it on (for example google.com), and nothing else of that address;
• the page's title.

Moving to another page of this site counts as a new page view.

While a page is open it keeps three running totals: how long it has been in the foreground (counted up to 30 minutes), the deepest point you scrolled to (in 5% steps), and how many booking-partner links you clicked on it. They are sent when you leave the page or switch to another tab, with the same page details as above apart from the title.

A page can send its totals more than once, so each page load makes a random number that joins those sends into one record. It is kept only in the page's memory: it is never saved in your browser, it is gone when you leave, and the next page makes a new one.

When you click a booking or activity link, the record says which partner it goes to, the Trip.com hotel number in the link (for a hotel), which card or section of the page the link was in and its heading, the page it was on, the time, and the page you arrived from (its address without any query string). That is which link was used on which page — not who used it.

• No IP address.
• No browser or device details. The user-agent string your browser sends is checked only to leave out automated traffic, and is not saved.
• No cookies. This site sets none.
• No device, advertising or visitor identifiers.

Records are not linked to one another, so there is no way to follow one visitor from page to page or from one visit to the next. Browsers that identify themselves as automated are not recorded.

Once you follow a link to Trip.com or GetYourGuide you are on their site, and their cookies and privacy policy apply, not this page.

In this site's own database on Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1), the service that also hosts the site. None of it is sent to Google Analytics or any other outside analytics service. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes each request in order to deliver the site and keeps its own short-term operational logs under Cloudflare's privacy policy; those logs are not part of the records described on this page.
